On my last day in Sydney before I was due to fly back home the following day, I wanted to end it off with a climb up the harbour bridge. Unfortunately, one is not allowed to climb the bridge on one's own. There must be a certified guide and we had to pay a lot just to climb the bridge. Since I am such a cheapskate, I decided to just go to the Pylon Lookout instead.
Even though the Pylon Lookout is not the same as actually climbing up the steel arches, there is still a fair amount of climbing, as we had to climb up about a hundred steps before reaching the entrance, where you had to pay to go in. Then after that, there is more climbing before reaching the top of the pylon. But from there, the view is really good. It is different from Sydney Tower as from the Sydney Tower Eye, one can only look down, but from the view from the top of the pylon, one can see across.

Going down from the Pylon Lookout, I came across an original steel structure that is the material of the Bridge.
After coming down from the pylon, I started making my way across the bridge to the other side, which will end at Milsons Point.

After going across the bridge, I took the train from Milsons Point Station to Circular Quay, where I then took a ferry to Darling Harbour. Even though I did not climb the actual bridge, I had no regrets as going up the Pylon Lookout is also educational as they have exhibits and a short clip on the history and construction of the bridge, and the view on top is spectacular too. So it is an experience not to be missed, but of course, if you can afford it, go for the Bridge Climb all the way!
