Bayu Marina Resort In Johor Bahru

I just returned from an overnight stay at Bayu Marina Resort in Johor Bahru. It is part of a two-day one-night package to Legoland. Bayu Marina Resort is one of the newer hotels in Johor Bahru. It is a hotel-cum-service apartment of sorts, so the rooms are divided into studios, two-bedrooms, three-bedrooms, and family suites.

 

Since I was due to check in only around three, I reached there around that time. There are two views - city view and waterfront view. When I checked in, I was told that the studios (which was originally booked) were all taken up, so I was upgraded to a two-bedroom service apartment facing the water at no extra charge! What great service!

When I entered the room, the room is really big! It is equivalent to a three-bedroom flat back home! The kitchenette is next to the front door, and the front door opens up onto a big dining area. Beyond that is the sitting room with sofa and television, and that opens up onto a balcony facing the water.

 

On the right side of the apartment is a big bathroom, followed by the second bedroom next to it. At the end is the master bedroom with a sliding door that opens up onto the balcony, with an attached bathroom and sliding wardrobe.

 

The second bedroom consist of a bed, dressing table and wardrobe. The bed can sleep one person (or two for children), as well as a sliding bed at the bottom that can sleep an extra person. The master bedroom is, of course, a normal master bedroom.

This bed is so comfortable that I just wanted to lie in there the whole day and not get up!

Part of the package includes a two-way shuttle from the hotel to Legoland and back. But if I wanted to go down to the other parts of Johor Bahru, I had to ask the receptionist to call me a cab to go wherever I wanted to go.

 

The package also includes breakfast. Breakfast was held at the cafe on the ninth floor. It had a sumptuous spread of Western and local dishes. The food was nice, or maybe because I was just hungry!

Overall, I would say Bayu Marina Resort is a good place for a little weekend getaway, especially for a family with children. There is a nice swimming pool, and wifi is free. There are also a variety of good television programmes.

 

However, it would be a very good idea if one can drive there as there are places to park your car and then it is more convenient to go around Johor Bahru town itself. Otherwise the resort is a bit out of the way and one then have to call for a cab to go anywhere.
